Twitter Tips
There are some Twitter tips that you should know and the first one is the use of the Hashtag "#" this is the tag that comes before a certain word or phrase and it helps for your tweet to be archived in a keyword search related to that tag, so for example if I simple did #twitter it would go in a list with all other tweets about twitter that have included that hashtag.
Also the @ tag can be used to reference another twitterer or even a company name, so try and use these on your tweets, remembering that you only have 140 characters to type something memorable in your short tweets.
Another tip is to not promote products on every tweet, it's best to mix up your tweets, with other things which could include:-
- What you are currently doing
- Events
- Blog posts
- Products
- Special offers
- other peoples websites or blog posts
- fun stuff
The choice is yours. I've seen some twits promoting products every 5 minutes which is something that I don't do at all as it just comes across as desperate, instead just think about what you tweet and whether it is relevant to your followers.
