Blogging To Make Money Online With Problogger
60Problogger.net
For years the Problogger blog has dominated my blogging efforts and it has been at the forefront of what I try and do with my blogs, it is an excellent blogging resource filled with tips and special blogging resources that are focused on everything to do with blogging as a primary online business model in making money with blogging and getting traffic to your own blog.
In particular though the Problogger blog has a great blogger at the heart of the blogging wheels that turn and Darren Rowse is his name and he certainly has proved quite a considerably consistent blogger by posting a blog post almost every day, even if he gets a guest blogger in to provide some unique insight and tips that reach new heights of opinion and brilliant methodology for blogging.
The blogging tips that Darren pours into his blogs has become an interesting story to behold and one that has propelled the Problogger blog into a league of super bloggers who earn a six figure income and it is a journey that is interesting to watch and read about especially as Darren himself blogs about his stats and blog metrics giving us puny bloggers an inspiring tour of the super bloggers world of massive earnings and brilliant blogging campaigns for us all to see.
The Problogger blog is filled with not only written content, but great video content too which gets posted every now and then and video blogging is just fantastic to reach your blog readers and that's what Darren does, he does a multitude of different blogging media and hands it out, together with his weekly guest posters who also deliver great and helpful article content that relate to blogging in some way.
From making money to trying to get traffic to your site, there are inspiring blog posts aplenty and the guest post format helps break up the monotony of a one blogger voice too, which can sometimes make a blog sound tired, but it then leaves Darren free to come up with new products, such as ebooks or other useful additions, because he does has his hands full with two other blogs The Digital Photography School and Twitter Tips which are both excellent blogs in their own right.
I myself have been a subscriber to the Problogger blog for at least 3 years now and I still view it weekly to see if there is a good post that will be of use and most times it is, so I always check my feed for new posts.
Recently there have been a few regular additions to the guest posts and there is one that writes current blogging trends on what people are writing about or should be writing about and this is useful if you have a topical blog, such as a news type of blog, but ideally you should be writing evergreen content, so that your content won't get dated and become yesterdays news, because if you write good quality evergreen stuff, then it will be read for years to come and that sounds a lot better to think about.
Don't rule out news type content altogether, just try and make it focused in your niche and useful information that you are blogging about, because up to the minute news content written quite regularly could attract some good backlinks and further promotions of your posts, not to mention some advertising which could pay you.
It's unbelievable the amount of stuff I've learnt from the Problogger blog alone, from split testing adsense ads, to how to get guest blogging opportunities and build your blog to a better blog with more readers and subscribers through solid traffic generation techniques.
Of course like anything, some blogging techniques would have lost their impact slightly with things like blog commenting, because most blogs are nofollow( Nofollow is a html tag that doesn't allow the links to be indexed in the search engines, Dofollow does however), but this still can be worked around if you write genuine comments and provide something useful to say on the blog post you are commenting on, I like to add something new to the conversation if I can, as most bloggers leave a question or a series of questions for people to answer at the end of the blog post.
At Problogger there is a Job Board too which frequently gets updated with new blogging jobs, as and when they arise, which is useful if you need a little extra money and work to cover bills and things like that, I've found the odd job through the job postings, but be warned they are very competitive to apply for, so I recommend you sign up for the Job Board feed and check morning, noon and night and apply straight away, usually they will need samples or whatever, but the instructions for applying are usually on the job posting, so read it carefully.
Problogger also has a book which condenses a lot of the main quality content from the blog with some new stuff added making it a readable blogging resource, although they have updated it since into a 2nd edition which I would recommend buying, I did a review of the first Problogger book, which you can read here - Problogger book

Wayne, completely off topic, but one of my mates dad (recently deceased) actually wrote a series of Doctor Who! He also wrote every series of heartbeat!
I read problogger too, it's a good blog, although there is a tendency to repeat or retread itself a bit, I still read it now and again for some much needed blog inspiration.
I think it's great that he shares his experiences and helps others striving for the same goal plus learn his business savvy at the same time. :) great info!
You got it waynet...what they call fresh expressions all the way ;-)
I'll check this out. thanks for sharing!
I think the best bit about the problogger book is that Darren started his blogging career when he was doing the same job as I am...(you'd have to read the intro to find out!)
Good hub mate!
