What Is An Entrepreneur?

And what makes an entrepreneur? Well it takes a special individual to be an entrepreneur and one who is committed in focusing on one thing in mind and that is an entrepreneurial way of thinking. A way of thinking that blocks out negative thought and replaces it with positive risk taking that transcends the modern day reality of having to work a regular job. Entrepreneurs brains are wired differently and this process of thinking is far beyond mere mortals, they take risks financially, as well as emotionally in their business ventures, sometimes a hunch about an idea working is all that an entrepreneur may go on, maybe with some market research or maybe without.

Entrepreneurs have that unique spirit within them from previous experience of smaller successes or just a realisation that they can be much more if they put their minds to it and life doesn't have to go the way of previous generations in the family. A risk taker who is an entrepreneur will most often be categorized as leading a previous none existence, a period in their life of uncertainty, hardship financially and generally someone who let life just pass by. Now more and more people are beginning to see the benefits of working for themselves and striving for that elusive but easily attainable entrepreneurs spirit.

Failure leads to success in all aspects of life, it's a fact, the more you fail, the more chances you potentially have of succeeding somewhere along the lines. If I was to complete a string of failures all in a row, I can guarantee you that some usefulness would always come out of every single failure, maybe you'd find out that doing things a different way is all you need or maybe you found out that the way you was doing things just needed fine tuning. Whatever the case, becoming an entrepreneur doesn't happen over night, in fact I'm sure that is doesn't for quite a lot of people, the failures have to happen over a short time, until the successes arrive on the scene.

Take the Internet for example, when I started out I made many mistakes with regards to trying to get my content known about, but it's not until you try things out that you realise your mistakes or someone who has been there before you points out these mistakes to you that you ever fully get it. What you try to achieve online or off is much more important, they trying to do something, anything, so long as you learn along the way, who cares if you fail every time, you just have to pick yourself back up and back to the drawing board and I suppose that's what is an essential quality of being an entrepreneur and that is persistence.

If you want something bad enough, you will keep trying, no matter how many knock backs, rejections for this and that and screw ups you make, the effort is equalled by your passion and determination. If you are passionate, then you get determined, then you get more motivated and then you get more involved in the ideas process of making a success out of your entrepreneurial ideas and success will come, it's only a matter of time.

An entrepreneur takes advice from almost anyone and shapes it into more positives and throws away the negatives from people, because you will get negative reactions from people who have already decided that they are resisters in life and would rather do what society tells them and that is to get a job working for a weekly wage, which is fine and respectful and everything, but if they are putting you down, then they want you to be like them and that should be eliminated right from the start. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you don't have to take negative advice if someone is trying to throw you off taking entrepreneurs business risks for their own ends.

These types of people who make things happen, the entrepreneurs are vital people to the inspirational hopes of many on this planet and they don't have to be all for themselves either with lofty business goals, they could be out for non profit solutions to benefit people who are less fortunate in life and to these super people I salute you.

Be an entrepreneur and make something out of nothing!

Hello Waynet - Cheers to anyone who makes something out of nothing, it's the block out the negative thoughts part that gives us trouble.

Yeah cheers Ken!

I suppose it's that elusive question, Is this all there is to life? that always niggles away when working a regular job for a long period of time.

Hi Wayne, I like your article why/what/is an entrepreneur

and just for the record, I've been in that category all my working life. It's fairly obvious to me that you and I went to the university of hard knocks. An enjoyable down to earth read.

Cheers Suziecat and Sunforged!

I believe I have the entrepreneurs spirit, just needs exorcising slightly to set it free in my projects!

An enjoyable read, found myself nodding along. One of the commonly unmentioned traits of an entrepreneur that I have is a complete inability to say "Yes, sir!"

You're right, Wayne. We have to fail at times to progress. I'm a firm believer that determination and plain stubborness will eventually lead to success. I'm on my way.
