How To Earn Through Article and Revenue Sharing Content Sites

Updated on July 16, 2011

Writing Online And Earning Revenue From Content

I was quite surprised at how many content sites there are now, were you can earn ad revenue from writing useful and unique content on the web, and I was also surprised at the quality of the sites too.

Article content sites have the potential especially if you own one to make a huge percentage of ad revenue for the owner and then filter out lots of ad revenue for it's members, if they provide useful content that is in demand or on a popular topic.

And the best ones are the ones that you can get paid by Paypal as there is no waiting for checks to clear as you know the money is going to be transferred once you reach a set amount, but by far the best thing about joining a content site is that if you really love to write then you can earn a serious amount online, bear in mind you have to write almost every hour of the day at first and promote your links to your articles at every given chance you get, non stop marketing is apparent here.

But a large portion of traffic to your article content if done right would be from the search engines, if you have used the right keywords related to your articles targeted content.

Getting inbound links from other sources such as article directories and blogs and related websites all help to draw traffic to your content sites, aswell as this free advertising and social marketing resources can benefit your search engine ranking too.

A good tip when writing for these content sites is to update your article content quite regularly as this could boost your search engine ranking especially if you are adding more useful content, sites link Squidoo have more resources to add to your articles than any other, oh and here too at Hubpages of course.

Read the one page articles blog for more updates on revenue earning content sites and build on your article marketing learning journey.

Other sites you could possibly earn from, although I would recommend Hubpages...but that's just me!

Write About What You Know or Can Research

Writing about what you know quite well is the best course of action when writing on any revenue sharing site. If you have experience with something why not write about it in detail and help someone else out with your knowledge and if you know a lot about a subject, the chances are you'll be more enthusiastic about sharing your information with everyone who is interested and if further research is needed you will relish the task to do so.

I'm an artist myself and so I try and write article content that's going to help other artists or at the very least inspire them and I do this in many forms, with articles and even videos and through blog posts, all of these combined make a perfect fit for my knowledge and I can show variety in my little presentations.

Of course with writing to earn online there are elements of keyword research and finding out if people are actually searching for your topics before ever writing a single word as the key is to minimize your time by writing lots of good quality content whenever you set out to start writing, so make your keyword research the highest priority and then just write what you know and make it useful for others.

Adsense/Revenue sharing options

Always look out for options, as sites grow, so may the options for earning. Examine your stats on AdSense and any others, always look and study the data as more often than not you can find out some great information that will help you make more money by writing. Google Analytics is the best free tool that you can find all sorts of different traffic metrics and even keyword ideas based on other peoples searches on your sites or articles.

Impression based ads may be the writing sites main source of earnings, so try and generate some decent traffic to your site or articles and you could earn a percentage of that ad traffic.

Of course it all starts out online by just writing content and going from there. If you don't start, then you'll never ever have a chance to earn anything, it takes time to write and time to earn as content has to be indexed, to be found in the search engines by people looking for your articles. A good way of thinking is look at what others are writing about in your subject area and see if you can write it way better, add more value, more photos, video content, more options to find out in full detail the thing that they have searched for to find out.

Good luck writing online and earning money.
