Airbrush

Airbrush is one tool that I've always wanted, but never could afford back when I was a teenager, but now you can get the cheaper airbrush kits to get you going and to practice with. An airbrush is a great painting tool that relies on blowing paint through a small tube from compressed air and you control the amount of pressure to determine the amount of paint sprayed.

Although these artists tools require regular cleaning in between each color and after use, they are still a fantastic tool to create some cool paint effects, including a more defined artistic splatter or a subtle gradation of color that could fit seamlessly into a work of art. Like any other art tool, the more expensive air brush, the better the results for your paintings, but the cheaper airbrushes are still ideal to learn how to use these specialist artists tools.

I'm going to buy a decent air brush soon and even though I could have bought a cheaper one again after my last one broke I thought no I'll wait to get a nice expensive airbrush because I know how to use one based on my cheap air brush and the ways in which I experimented with the different air pressures to get different paint results.

An air brush is not an essential tool though as many professional tools are digital within Photoshop and provide equal results, but they are still a good thing to master as you can pass on airbrush techniques to those that are interested.

 Air brushes can have air cylinders which are expensive, but you may want an airbrush that has what looks like a spray can but in fact it is air propellant which acts just like an air cylinder for spraying various paints onto your painted surface.

Any good hobby craft store will have a good airbrush set that will include propellant, if not though they are fairly inexpensive and the paints are quite cheap too.

Also consider buying varnish or good lacquers to protect your artwork when finished.
