YouTube Partner Benefits

Benefits of being a YouTube Partner

Well there are many benefits of being a YouTube content partner and these are really good benefits you can use to your advantage, firstly the Partnership requirements need to be reached so that you are able to earn from the Partnership program.

So here are the benefits:-

Branding

With the partner program you are able to brand your video channel with a banner right at the top of your video profile page and video pages too. Also you are able to place a link for each banner and also in the sidebar of your channel too, this makes it far easier to brand your YouTube channel and make it stand out from the crowd. Maybe you have a logo already or you have one in the works, it is best to get on with it and finish it and upload it to your channel as it will become a recognizable brand for you and your YouTube channel.

Also on each video you can create a customizable thumbnail to make your videos stand out even more, if you've ever seen the videos of ShaneDawson, then you will know what I'm talking about. A Customized video thumbnail will appear on the embedded video on your video channel or wherever it is embedded on the Internet, so it's worth creating a catchy thumbnail (I haven't done any yet, but I will be that's for sure!)

Tracking and Redirects

You can track your videos stats by adding the Google Analytics id in your account to see which videos are popular as well as additional metrics in the YouTube stats. I've not seen my analytics yet, because I'm a relatively new partner, so I'll update later on this.

The url redirects are so you can redirect visitors to your YouTube channel anywhere on the site, further reading is required by me to expand on this and I will.

Enabling Revenue Sharing

When you first start with the partner program you have to enable each video separately by following the Enable Revenue share link on each video. You have to state that you own the copyright and permission to upload the video by checking a few check boxes against what is in the video content and writing a short blurb in the box provided about your content.

YouTube states that it takes up to 48 hours to properly enable your videos with revenue sharing ads, so it's worthwhile reviewing each one yourself this way anyway to make sure there are none that will slip the net and pass as copyrighted content elsewhere. By default any videos you've added music too will not have the enable rev share link below the video and this is because you won't own the music as it is copyrighted.

Once you have been reviewed and each video has been approved for ads, you will start to have ads in your videos and a few ads on your video pages too that will generate varying degrees of revenue based on your traffic.

Never click on your own ads or get others to click on them as it violates Adsense TOS.

UPDATE! - As of now, the YouTube partner program is open to nearly everyone. I say nearly everyone, there are a few Countries that it isn't because of high instances of click fraud and other possible reasons. All you need to do to become eligible is to have at least one quality video on your YouTube account and an adsense account to get paid through the program. Quite a few Countries have access to this new Partner program and they'll slowly roll out the brandable banners and video thumbnails which are benefits of being a partner quite soon too.

Make your YouTube account a quality one that doesn't spam and sell crappy affiliate products. Just create value for present and future subscribers and adhere to the Copyright Law and you should be fine to conduct your online business with YouTube for years to come.
