Self Improvement: Improving Your Quality Of Life
77How To Improve The Quality Of Your Life
Improving the quality of your life sounds easy when you see that simple statement on paper or in writing but actually doing it is another story unless you have the will power and the guts to take action. The quality of your own life is the focus as you need to be thinking about you first above all else and once this has been achieved then those around you can follow suit if they choose to do so. Improvements can be made within your own life whether it be Financial, Mentally or Physically each one of these 3 things can affect your own well being if they are out of touch or left unbalanced.
The quality of your life has to do with the above three principles that need to be kept happy in order for you to feel like your life is on track with the idea being that what ever drives you in life these three elements in your life will be sustained by your passion, your reason for being and this will in turn improve your life. Of course the journey along the road to this goal can be one of self doubt and this can limit your potential along the way and slow down your progress as we are all conditioned from a young age to get a job, a career which is all well and good but if you forget what you dreamed as a child and lose that fantasy no matter how impossible it sounded then you are nothing but a robot who has joined the mindless society that has to to work to live and not the other way round which is live to work.
I'll tell you a story of my own personal up bringing and explain why finding the Internet was the best thing to ever happen to me.
It began one stormy night as the clouds gathered and the rain lashed against my window...(Did I ever tell you I wanted to write stories!) and I would dream about something amazing to happen by looking out of that window thinking about huge monsters battling or Dragons burning down my School or Superheroes asking me to join them on an adventure. Naturally being 8 years old at the time this seemed quite normal to me and I suppose it was for most other young boys growing up, but the problem comes when you never really shake all this imaginative stuff that's in your head and you start to work what is called the regular job or "The Normal Job" as I used to call it and you begin to wonder Is this it? Is this what life is all about because if it is I want out right now!
For awhile temporary jobs came and went followed by long periods of unemployment which gave me the time to really think and assess my own life and if it was going anywhere better and it's at that moment you realise that you are approaching 30 years of age and your are just living IE: Eating, Breathing Sleeping over and over again, the wheels are turning but nothing good exists in your life except your Wife and Kids (And that was true for me!)
When I found the Internet back in 2005 my life changed although not straight away as the possibilities were there, the dreams had been awakened, long left rotting like a dried out old corpse but a few years passed as the idea of working on the Internet seemed like a pipe dream, something that was unattainable except for a select few. Fast forward to early 2007 a part time income online existed with the help of several websites and writing sites I had joined and to supplement this income I had struck lucky (Or so I thought) and got a job in a Hotel and this was to put the nail in the coffin on working the Normal jobs forever. The job itself was nothing special even though my Manager said it was the most important job in the whole of the Hotel as I was a Laundry Keeper I had to maintain stock levels and this became a busy job that would depress me no end for a full year until I decided to quit and make a full time go of working online as the possibilities were there and still are today with Internet growth at it's highest ever.
So 2008 was the year I improved my life or gave it a good shot and I've not looked back since, well I have just to look at my web stats! Along the way I made a conscious decision to do something with my drawing talent (There was a time when I didn't want to call it a talent, because of self confidence which was very low!) I thought why not do drawing video tutorials and just get myself out there and to hell with anyone who leaves negative comments because it happens all the time on YouTube. I figured there would be people who might get inspired to do something similar or just think it might be cool to draw stuff from their imagination and I was right.
Right at this moment in time I have plans to release ebooks, DVD's and my own Comic Books which I am really looking forward to as it's what I was born to do and I believe it can improve my own life as well as my families too as I already feel like I'm living a dream and the ideas never ever stop and I can see that with more focus and letting your dreams in your life you can do great good for yourself and for others.
So, if you have a dream, then just try and do it! Unless your dream is having Super powers which unfortunately is impossible at this moment in time. Your own life can be shaped and moulded into something you want rather than something you don't, so get on with it, because no one else will do it for you!

Hi Waynet,
Great hub, I too tried to fit that square peg into the round hole for years. Working at jobs I hated. In November of 2011 I made the decision to quit my job to pursue writing online as well. My life has become awesome, I make a bit of money online and also know the potential is there. Thank you for making me feel I made the right decision.
A great and motivational stuff to read!!!
Inspirational!
Very inspiring, thank you for sharing.
Wow, and how many common points you have with me! It was almost like reading my own story. The main difference being that I've never achieved any result of worth yet :-)
Many times I think I'm just crazy and should stop dreaming and focus on real work. But then I find people like you and my motivation ignites again. I'll surely follow you from now on and wish you as much sucess as I wish for my self.
What a great story and very inspirational. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear that you are living the dream. I'm trying to get there myself.
What a story! Thick with inspiration and a "go getter" attitude. Love the porky goodness, it brought a laugh and a head shake...
I am glad you found Online writing, and thus your passion! I have always enjoyed your work.

I am glad you have been able to realize your goals through online writing, ebooks, and artwork. You inspire many other artists who may just be finding their way right now. Your story is so much more authentic than the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" hyped stuff.
This is quite an inspirational story. Good for you for doing what you really want, I'm older and still developing and exploring. Go for it, everyone.
Waynet, Great hub, very honest and personal. I'm still doing a job I wish I wasn't and that ain't going to change any time soon. My working life has taken over my personal life and I'm trying to put that right at the moment but I'm finding it hard to try to put myself first; old habits die hard! Good Luck with your drawing, you're lucky to have a great talent, make it work for you!
Why is it that I suddenly want a big bag of pork rinds to eat all by my lonesome? Could it be the entertaining writing and the photograph? Hmmmmmmm. Voted up!
How inspiring! What I love about your personal experience is that you took that risk and dared to do what would make you happy instead of going for the most conservative and safe (but boring) options. I'm so glad you're pursuing what you're passionate about!
Great article. though i think you only introduced the topic and got lost while giving an illustration. Anyways, this is no essay class!
