Prismacolor Colored Pencils

The Prismacolor pencils are something of a new kind of pencil for me, I only bought some on a recommendation a good few months ago and without a doubt they even beat my most favourite pencils of all the Crayola Color Pencils which I've used for years and still enjoy today.
What sets these Prismacolor pencils apart from any other is the fact of that they are more deeper in color and the pencil lead seems far stronger compared to other types and the color saturation just seems far superior which with these simple manufactured elements really do bring a superb color pencil which is professional for professional and hobby artists.
Of course now the Prismacolor pencils aren't easy to erase if you make a mistake, but the Col-Erase Colored pencils can be erased quite easily, but this shouldn't stop you buying these fantastic art pencils, because the secret of a good drawing is the under drawing right? once you have that sorted it is much better to pre-plan your color schemes out on paper before you attempt to rush in with Prismacolor pencils ablazing.
There are different ranges of Prismacolor pencils and they either have soft core lead or hard core lead which makes each color when applied to paper more wax bloom, which is just a term for the type of pencils that if you apply pressure on the paper with a certain Prismacolor pencil or any color pencil for that matter you may get a waxy coating on the paper and this can sometimes make it hard to scan into your computer.
I like the Premier Verithin Prismacolor pencils best as that's what I'm used to, although I do use Crayola color pencils a lot lately I do have several pack of the verithin prismacolor pencils tucked away.
I've also been experimenting with their range of double ended markers and illustration markers and you can expect a hubpage on these beauties!

Hello over there in the United Kingdom. I enjoyed this hub. So many advances have been made in this wonderful world of art products.
Back when I was taking art classes in college, the teachers always insisted that we had prismacolor pencils. It didn't hit me how much better they were until I tried going back to crayola. The prismacolor pencils blend better and give the image more of a painted look that I really like.
Hmm, I guess I'll have to buy these Prismacolor pencils. I've never even heard of this brand. Thanks for the recommendation!
Another interesting hub. I'm always on the lookout for some new art materials and I can feel my credit card itching at the thought of these.
They look very useful for those with an artistic leaning.
Thanks for the tip :) I don't usually colour I tend to just shade my drawings with the pencil im drawing with, but i'll give colouring a shot with these pencils.
Those Prismacolor Colored Pencils look like they are good. I mostly paint with acrylics but do sometimes draw with coloured pencils. Thanks for the info on the hub about the Prismacolor Colored Pencils as it is helpful when I decide to buy new ones
