More Kids Craft Ideas

Following on from my previous hub about kids craft ideas, I thought I could expand on some more kids craft ideas that would help the parents more to think of different craft ideas for their kids, the more creative things to do, the better for children to explore new crafts and just find some great things to do when bored or on school holidays.

Making sock puppets (and not the Hubpages forum kind!) out of old (but clean socks) can be fun as you can glue feathers and draw and paint faces on them or cut ping pong balls in half for the eyes, the more creative you get with making stuff, the better you can find almost anything around the house to create some cool sock puppets or any type of puppets.

Finger puppets can be easily made out of ribbon and a few art markers, although like anything that you create, just remember that kids lose interest easily,so always have a range of alternate things to create at the ready.

Hat making can be a good craft for kids to do, from paper hats to actual fabric hats, again you can buy ready created straw hats to decorate with all manner of arts materials and specialist craft supplies.

Paper hats and special craft sets which include great sets to make some funky hats for birthday parties or any event, but most kids like to create some hats not for a special event, but just for the fun of making a hat.

 Poster drawing is another fun thing for kids to do, they could draw a Summer poster or some other imaginary event that they would like to be involved with. All you need is sketch pencils and drawing pads to begin with this creative craft project.

My daughter, often has had homework from her school to draw a poster for this and that and I've had fun drawing some ideas for her to include in her poster, form crabs and sharks to fireworks and zoo animals, it's cool to try and draw some stuff you haven't drawn in awhile.

 Tye dyeing t-shirts, I remember at school doing this and it seemed like fun at he time, although I remember at the time my white t-shirt didn't look nice and white when I finished with it when dyed with dye paints.

Some elastic bands are great for tying off areas of the fabric and making sure that these areas don't get dyed with colour, so that when you bring them out of the dye and when dry you can remove the elastic bands to show an area of white were the rubber band has been, this produces a great colour effect.
