On the Internet there are many low budget advertising alternatives and methods to promote a website of your own and these are considered the best for reaching a targeted audience and low cost advertisements which can be implemented in many online ways.
Your own website
To create a website is one way of advertising, because what you do is to place your website link on different websites and if you have optimized your website properly, then your website will rank accordingly in the search engines and the more good strong and relevant backlinks you have for your website, the better it will rank which could mean a page 1 ranking.
Having an online space is cheaper than other advertising alternatives as the webhosting is very inexpensive with monthly fees and domain name charges are yearly. The main cost that you will have is the time to promote and market your website as this takes up a large percentage of your time.
Other ways can cost you some money, but if you look around, there are some cheap advertising deals that you can make, but always use paid advertising with caution as you should look into the sites that will advertise your websites link, a high page rank is a good indicator that the site is genuine as also you might find recommendations from others who could endorse the site which is also useful, but look above these two factors and use your own judgement, look at the sites that are already being advertised see if there are of a standard for each category just to be on the safe side.
Autoresponder for email marketing
An autoresponder is a low cost way particularly if you rely solely on email advertising to build up your sites credibility through email communication and they can be very useful by providing updates to your products or your affiliate products, but also by building trust and providing quality information for your subscribers. But if you're a smart advertiser you will learn to combine many different advertising methods into a full force advertising campaign that reaches people on many levels.
Radio and TV advertisements
Consider other advertising alternatives, radio advertising could apply if you are serious about your online business, depending on the fee that you pay, you could pave a way for others to seek you out if you have something good to offer people, a good musical jungle usually catches the listeners attention. You could get discounts for your radio advertising during non peak times, so it's worth looking into for another advertising venue to consider.
Even television could be an option, if you have a budget set aside, you could try after mid night advertising as you could reach some viewers, maybe ask around different TV networks so as to compare different advertisement prices. Always look at your options and decide for yourself whether each campaign will be worth your while as some advertising methods work for different types of businesses more.
Classic one - Yellow Pages and newspapers
Yellow pages is the obvious other way of advertising your business, although many might argue that the Yellow pages is becoming obsolete because of the Internet, but no as the Yellow pages is online too, so this adds to the power of the Yellow Pages advertising as people can find your business, website or phone number and contact your directly.
Along with the Yellow Pages, newspapers shouldn't be ruled out either as the local advertising power could create a few local business networks that could be the foundation of your business empire, again depending on your business type, you could partner up with local businesses to further your reach to your targeted audiences. The classifieds section is a good basis to find your targeted audience as it sections off areas of interest so that people looking through the classifieds can find what they are looking for, so do your market research here.
Look up the ad pricing, to see if it matches your budget and consider placing a regular ad there.
A Business card
A simple business card is an obvious solution which is a must these days as many businesses have their own business cards held by their employers, whether they are self employed business people or employees that hold special credentials that make their expertise warrant a business card. Business cards are a great marketing tool that can be used when meeting people face to face and then announcing your business card.
Business cards are a fantastically short and great way of introducing someone new to your business, make sure to include a tag line and possibly an elevator pitch style business description if you have the room on it.
Presentations - Leaflets, Flyers and other marketing paperwork
If you are a whizz with PowerPoint or an over head projector and an drive home the point of your business, then you could include your presentation as part of a potential sales pitch where you would apply the presentation to a group of targeted people who just might purchase your product or help promote your business if you give them enough incentives to do so.
Other ways that sail along with this premise are posters, flyers and leaflets which describe the business and what products you offer, the paperwork of brohures and leaflets is considered old school, but it's an option that could still work and you don't have to create anything fancy to start off with, that'll come later when you start making some money from your business.
A newsletter is a vital update t new and existing clients and can be sent through email or direct mail if your budget allows. I'd go with an email newsletter as this is far cheaper, but a photocopied newsletter sometimes can work wonders depending on your market.
One last thing about low cost advertising, one of the best forms of advertising is simply just talking about it. If you can relay the enthusiasm for something like your business and do it in a memorable way, then others will remember it and mention it to someone who they think would benefit from it, this is the age old Word Of Mouth and you cannot beat it, for it's viral marketing capacity can be just as good as any other method, of course it's who you know and not necessarily what you know sometimes that can create some business for you
You business market may have conventions or conferences in this area and are ideal for youto network and spread the viral word about your business.
All of this that I've written is obviously common sense stuff and there are other advanced low cost methods out there that are equally better to promote your business, but at least this simple, basic stuff is a start and that's all you need!!
