Web Page Optimization: Landing Page Optimization Fine Tuning

 One of the most comprehensive books I am currently reading at the moment is "Landing Page Optimization: The Definitive Guide To Testing And Tuning For Conversions"

On the outset the book written by ebsite optimization expert Tim Ash is an in depth and interesting read full of complex but much needed advice for those wanting to increase conversions to their websites such as more sales,visitors or more sign ups.

Optimization is one of them words that you need to understand and grasp the processes of optimizing everything that you create online so that you have the potential to build your own online business the right way through a panned step by step optimization strategy. Website fine tuning has lots of implications ad benefits if you take two main points on board:

A) Optimize your site for the search engines so that it can be indexed and crawled effectively.

B) Gain an understanding of your audience by what they want or demand.

Online marketing is all about understadning customer decision making and testing out multiple optimizations and split tests to determine which approach will be effective in your promotions. The fine tuning of website elements demands the following skills:

• Web design
• Copywriting
• Analyzing Statistics
• Marketing And Promotions
• Networking
• Communications

The 11 chapters of the book are split into three main sections for ease of reference. The first chapter section Part I deals with the background of landing page optimization and why fine tuning your website is the most important thing you can do for your website and more importantly your online business.

The second chapter section Part II explains n detail about what to fine tune an how, Chapter five being the most useful stand out chapter for me as it goes through landing page issues and hy your site is not perfect even if you think it is the perfect wake up call to the unititiated.

The third chapter section Part III entitled Getting It Done, goes through developing an action plan of sorts and with the chapter 11 being very useful, detailing several common pitfalls with your optimization testing program.

The appendix towards the end of the book gives you an overview and walk through of Googles Website Optimizer which of course is one of the best landing page testing platforms there is for your website. Back to the book again, it is an essential read and one that is really useful for optimizations and is best read in order of chapters to follow as it gives you the relevant insight into the whole business of landing page optimization, which is a complete skill in itself, but certainly one worth the time to invest into learning.

I'd recommend buying the book as it is one of the best books on the subject of landing page optimization strategies.
