How To Break A Lock
76Break A Lock
Breaking a lock is fairly easy, of course there are some common sense ways to break a lock, but there are also some ways you may not have thought of for breaking a lock, trying to vandalize locks can be purely because you have to, maybe you've locked yourself out of somewhere and you've lost the keys, here are some ways to absolutely knacker a lock of your choosing.
Use a hammer
A good strong hammer is essential and you can break a solid padlock with a few hard taps of a hammer, some may use a heavy duty sledge hammer and that is to be recommended, the bigger the better is what I always say, although it's what you do with it that counts!
Liquid nitrogen
Although where you'd get this from is anyones guess, but if you do manage to get a hold of some, then you'll need at least a flask size amount, so that you can pour on the lock, so that it will freeze the lock making it easier to shatter, just rubbing a bit of snow on it will not work.
Be careful with liquid nitrogen and don't try to make ice lollies with it!
Use a power drill
This is particularly effective on Yale locks that have the keys with more pin grooves on them, all you do is shove the drill hard into the wide part of the keyhole, so that when the drill goes through the pins that will lock and unlock the door get forced apart, making your door lock unlock and also breaking the lock too.
A good strong hacksaw
These work well on padlocks as you can easily cut through the metal link with one of these and any chains that might be attached to the padded lock, if damaging multiple locks, you may need several blades to last cutting through lots of metal.
A good kick-in
A door lock can be easily broken with a good kicking right where the lock is, just below the handle and right on the keylock, you may need several attemps, but you can probably get there in the end, or alternatively you can use a police battering stump that they use to gain access to criminals homes, 3 or 4 whacks with this usually does the trick.
A gun shot
Not quite sure if this one works, but in films it sure does, so it must work in real life if they caught it on camera, just aim for the lock and hope for the best, believe in your gun and the lock will open sesame.
And there we go, when you are locked out of your home, your garage, your gym locker or your car, just damage them locks and everything will be fine, of course you could learn how to pick a lock, but technically that isn't breaking a lock, so that's beyond the confines of this lock breaking extravanganza!.
