Jason Goes To Hell Friday The 13th Part 9 Movie Review
67Jason Goes To Hell
As part 9 in the Friday The 13th movie franchise, Jason Goes To Hell wasn't that bad, although it does provide a humdinger of a daft explanation as to why Jason keeps on killing people. He possesses others bodies by making them eat his black bloody heart, yeah right! Silly plot points aside, I remember watching this as a teenager when it first came out and thought it was a good film and still do as I was into them films when I was younger.
Although they never do lose their charm when you watch them back to back as it's just the same but with slightly different character types and young teenagers getting killed in different ways. I do feel this film had a more supernatural feel to the film and that made it better.
The story begins with Jasons charred body being examined at a morgue after being set up in an FBI operation to kill Jason Voorhees with some explosives and then the pathologist finds Jason's heart to tempting to resist and eats it and then he becomes possessed by the demon spirit of Jason and goes on a long killing spree through out the film.
It's later in the film that a bounty hunter called Creighton Duke reveals that only a blood relative can truly kill Jason and so throughout the movie this snake thing that's supposed to be Jason Voorhees evil demonic spirit jumps from person to person so he can carry on killing.
The film passes for it's horror content, but I still don't see why they had to try and explain the possession/host thing as it sort of ruins the whole mysterious aspect of an unstoppable bogeyman, it's like in the first remake of Halloween, all that childhood trauma explanation guff, that just cut the movie in half for me. I suppose Rob Zombie had to set it up, so that he could do a sequel, but it just wasn't necessary.
If you've seen the remake of Friday the 13th I suppose it's worth it to look back at all what came before with these other horror film classics

Jason Goes To HellLoading...
I even like "Jason X" better than "Goes to Hell." Yes, Jason X is utterly, totally ridiculous, but at least it KNOWS it's ridiculous.
I saw this flick in theatres when it first came out and I was soooooooooo pissed when I walked out of there, haha. "THEY RUINED IT!"
Aside from the fact that Jason wasn't really "Jason" for more than half of the film, the new studio tried to cram more history and back story into Jason's origins than in the previous eight films combined. By the end of it I seriously considered asking for my money back.
Not my sort of viewing but excellent review
With some of these movies, I think there is a point to where you say, enough already. I am so tired of all these remakes and keeping Jason going.
