House Of 1000 Corpses - Horror Movie Review
62Rob Zombies House Of 1000 Corpses
The House Of 1000 Corpses was easily Rob Zombies best film out of the short few he has directed, the crazy house involves yet another crazy Hill billy family hellbent on causing chaos to any who cross their path, which of course nods it's head to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films.
What else can be said about this bonkers film, well it is funny in places with snappy dialogue reminiscent of a Quentin Tarantino flick and memorable characters too with Captain Spaulding being the most memorable for me with his clown make up on and the things he says.
Although the film struggles to ground it's roots with different concepts or genres such as whether the film is actually a supernatural or just a slasher horror movie, but the balance is there and something that is removed in the sequel The Devils Rejects.
The DVD was fun when you see an introduction on the DVD menu screen by none other than Captain Spaulding who is just too funny by actor Sid Haig and you get the full optional audio commentary which is interesting from Rob Zombie and he talks about different inspirations and other neat stuff while the film is playing.
The film was good and just the type of film I like anyway, although there was quite a bit going on with the supernatural elements that they put in there, but thankfully they kept that to a minimum as this was more of a chainsaw massacre type of film, with all the clever death scenes and the craziness going on in the family of nutters house.
1000 corpses also had vibes and the atmosphere of some of them old horror films that came out after chainsaw massacre, like Maniac Cop and Childs Play, there was just something unnerving but quite fun about the whole movie.
Certainly one to watch if you haven't seen it yet.

House Of 1000 Corpses Movie ReviewLoading...
I do love horror movies but I haven't seen this one so I'll have to keep my eyes open for it if I'm in a rental shop. Wasn't Rob Zombie in a big rock band before he started making movies? I'm sure he was but I can't remember which one now.
I know what you mean. See Freddy of Jason grow up would kind of kill it. Sometimes not knowing who they are and where they came from is what makes them cool. I loved Zombie's Halloween, but after seeing it I could think of a half a dozen people I went to school with that could've been Michael Myers. I've been following Zombie since his days in White Zombie back in 1991, so I'm digging almost anything he does.
This movie is one of my favorites. I actually got a copy of the script to this movie before the final changes were made to it. It seems a bit predictible at times, but that is how it was meant to be. You just got me in the mood to watch this one again.
Why do we humans like to be frightened by horror films? Haven’t seen this movie yet…
love the movie!
Just the first image terrifies me. I am such a wimp.
I don't know that I can watch a movie like this! I'm trying to read a Jack Ketchum novel and am scared! Keep having to put it down .
