Games Workshop

 Games workshop was my number one hobby as a child and I loved to paint the little lead figures and draw fantasy based stuff from the world of Warhammer too, in fact when I have more time and money I would like to start collecting these figures again to paint as it was a relaxing hobby to work out the paint schemes of different races of orcs and daemon warriors.

Aside from my own personal experience with Games Workshop, it is a worldwide popular gaming phenomenon that is still going strong today, with board games, books, model sets and figures, aswell as games online and on various consoles, although no real movie attempts at the moment but it'll only take a matter of time, just look at how the comic book movies exploded a few years ago.

I remember Bloodbowl was my most favourite board game as I don't know why, but I loved the figures that came with the series and I'd love to get those figures back again to paint with my acrylic paints, I never really played Warhammer, but I loved some of the futuristic cars and the Space Marines, again I was more of a collector and painter rather than a gamer(mainly because no one would play the game with me boo hoo!)

The fantastic things about the whole Games workshop products is that they are built on a foundation of imagination and something to be inspired by, especially if you are an artist or someone who writes fantasy based stuff.

Games Workshop Group PLC (often abbreviated to GW) is a British game production and retailing company. Games Workshop is one of the largest games companies in the world, and is the dominant company in the miniature wargaming hobby.

Games Workshop was founded in 1975 by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson, who also did the fantastic roleplaying books that was very popular in the 80's and me and my brother used to argue over the books we had and the covers of the books was the main draw for as an artist and I really enjoyed these books as you had a notepad, pen and a dice to roll which would decide your fate as you read along the story in the book and that to me is a wonderful childhood memory of either making it out of a pit of doom or dying there with my eyes rolling back into their sockets because I rolled a 4, instead of a 6, classic!
