Collecting Art
There is something so interesting about collecting, because quite often the person collecting the different types of art become obsessed with them and they are quite knowledgeable on the subject of what they collect, art can be anything from limited edition plates to finely sculpted and painted tea pots, it doesn't matter, so long as the person doing the collecting enjoys it.
The art collector may collect art around a specific artist or period of the decade or past century or it could be art objects of them eras, such as buttons, lighters, broaches or anything that has an artistic design and a set in time style for collecting, when you hear the term art collector you would probably assume that they are quite rich and own a manor house and they drink their tea with their little finger up in the air pointing to the sky, but this is not true, art collectors can be from any class of people who choose to collect something.
Things that I used to collect and still do are comic books and action figures, the art and the design of these are really something that inspires me to draw,so that's why I collect these types of collectibles, anyone can have an art collection but every collection is different and that's the way it should be.
The thrill of trying to find certain parts of your collections that you need is part of the fun as you scour eBay or car boot sales and flea markets to find your missing art pieces, you never know what bargains you will find from someone who just wants a few extra quid from your selves, some might not be serious collectors and may not know the true value of something so they let it go for pennies and that's where you step in and snap them up..
And you are not limited to your country either, as around the world there maybe some little treasures hiding away and so exhibitions and museums could provide the clues to finding these inexpensive items For example, the artist Linda Barnicott does excellent paintings of scenery, buildings, and local landmarks found around Pittsburg in Pennsylvania. so all you collectors can find local artists wares almost anywhere and everywhere if you look in the right places.
A hobby collecting art is a really fun thing to get into, because if you find others who enjoy the same things like you, then you could network and find out more by covering different areas of the globe, so start an art collecting hobby and start living life and anjoying art.

I have a great art collection of my daughters, and a dear friend (now deceased) who was a western artist. Art is like music, it brings beauty to the world...
And don't forget the potential of collecting art bought directly from the artist. I have a small but wonderful collection of paintings and drawings from John Houle, a Canadian nature painter. This month I'm adding an oil pastel still life from Pat Isaac and starting payments on a pastel landscape from Charlotte Herczfeld.
These paintings are investments that will only increase in value over time.
What's much more numerous is my ACEO collection. Art Cards Editions & Originals are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" trading card sized original artworks. You can purchase original art from sometimes very famous artists like Deborah Secor at much more reasonable prices than their full sized works, with all their skill and talent put into these miniatures. That allows for more variety in the collection and means you're not going to run out of wall space as fast as getting full sized wall paintings.
So my art collection is focused mostly on original art bought directly from the artists, which helps support them and encourages them to do more or to stay full time if they're having financial trouble. As their careers progress, the value of the earlier works always increases.
It's good investment as well as a fun hobby. And you make a lot of friends too as you get to know artists personally over time.
I love collecting comics, but my collections are about Japanese comics like Kung Fu Boy, CONAN detective, Miss Modern or Naruto, ha..ha seriously I love comics and still love to read them in my spare time. Nice hub!
I used to collect all the old Batman and Superman comics when I was a kid then moved on to collecting football programs. I once had the Glentoran vs Benfica European Cup match one signed by George Best, that was the year Utd won the European Cup.
But jeeez after I got married I left them in the attic, my Mum did a clear out and not realising how important they were binned the lot.
These days I still have the collectors blood in me but now its hardback autobiographies and that movie mag Empire, tis an addiction lol !

Cheers Nancy!
If it wasn't for art, I would have joined many of the people I knew in prison long ago, I love art and to create it myself.
