Camera Reviews: Canon Powershot A590IS 8MP Digital Camera 4x Optical Zoom

It's not often I do reviews of products, but I was inspired and converted to the cause because this camera is just superb, not only because I own one but as 8mp digital cameras go, this camera takes high quality photos that look incredible.

The PowerShot A590 IS is a digital camera that has high value and a solid performance camera interface with all the usual features you would expect with its easy to handle design and comfortable grip.

It’s got 8MP (megapixels),plus a 4x optical zoom, and a large lcd screen for viewing your picture images, the view finder is a standard feature of most digital cameras and that's what I like, I find that on a bright day the pictures look their best taken in optimial sunlight. 

I like the zoom function too it seems to focus in well without any loss of image or reduction in quality, just wish it would zoom in more, but hey I'm not complaining as this camera was a bargain anyway and plus I can't quite afford the professional SLR digital cameras yet.

This high-resolution camera is an ideal option for those who have never ever taken a photo before with easy options and functions that make it efortless to take the best pictures 

The camera comes with an impressive 19 shooting modes and around 6 or 7 special scene modes so that you can hopefully be ready and armed for shooting things as they happen, every photographers worst nightmare not having their camera around when great stuff happens just doesn't bare thinking about does it?

The camera has a controlled exposure setting and a flash to keep every face looking bright and natural according to the light in rooms and indoors and outdoors.

Other features of this camera that I am exploring and experimenting with:

• Red-eye Correction using face detection technology which gets rid of red eye.
• Improved focus speed and white balance for better photorealistic results.
• Motion Detection Technology automatically reduces blur, this feature works in behind the scenes to instantly assess how fast your subject is moving. Then from there it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear.

So whether you’re shooting a bride walking down the aisle, a ballet recital or even a child’s soccer game, you can relax and shoot with confidence knowing you’ve got the picture you intended.

I am assured fromthe manufacturers instructions that this camera can be expanded through camera accessories like better flashes and a tele converter ( whatever that is?). 

Sharing your photos is easy too and printing your own makes it quite useful to not ever visit a photo shop for printing your negatives and all that old nonsense, digital simplifies things a lot better..

*Side note - The Red-eye Correction feature also provides three options for removing red-eye from subjects in flash pictures. and these are: 

1. The new Red-eye Correction during shooting actually identifies and corrects red-eye in human subjects as pictures are taken.
2. The A590 IS can be set to automatically detect and correct red-eye during image playback.
3. The user can manually locate any red eyes in a scene during image playback on the LCD screen, and command the camera to remove them.   

If you are thinking about buying a digital camera then here is a simple overview of what you can do wtih one.

Taking photos with a digital camera seems alot easier than with a regular camera and as soon as you have taken all of your photos, you can upload them to your computer and edit them if necessary. Digital files are more portable and easy to deal with, everything is fast becoming digital so get used to it.

Also if you have the right equipment you can upload your memory card with your digital photos on to your computer and become your own photo print center at home and never have to pay anyone (well except for print paper and batteries..!)

Editing your digital photos becomes easier if you have some kind of editing software, using these can improve the look of your photos

Digital images are immediately ready to be used on the Internet too for sharing through email and other web applications. Digital images can easily be sized however you want and presented in slideshows. 

Digital images can be easily stored on hard drives, CD-ROMs, and Zip disks.
